BEAR WORLD

This is a baby bear that is about 2 months old. Cute huh? It kinda has the face of a mole, and is the size of a puppy. But in the overall scheme of things it was cute!

Here are the kids petting the bear.

My friend, Mohna and I being eaten by the bear--- Don't worry- its NOT real!!!

The only two kids that were brave enough to go near the bear.

"Mom check out his teeth!!"

Now here's the REAL story. Mohna and I wanted to take our kids to BEAR WORLD (for anyone that doesn't know what that is, its a drive through nature park, where you can see deer, elk, bears and other animals up close and personal, while staying in your car of course.) Since its still WINTER up here and freezing cold the park is closed, but they did advertise their 10 new bear cubs and for only 15 dollars you could get your picture taken with the bear. From what they said it sounded as if you would be able to look at and touch ALL the bear cubs. When we got there we waited in line for about 10 minutes, sanitized our hands, sat down, they handed Savana the bear cub, we took the picture (which was totally unfair- the guy didn't even warn us that he was gonna take the picture he just honked a horn so we would look his direction- hence the bad photo you will see in a second), then they scooted us to the side so we could pet the bear, that total was about 10 seconds, then they shooed us out. So it was kind of a wasted trip. We drove for 1 hr to get there for a 10 second encounter with a bear. Needless to say there were some grown ups that were extremely disappointed- as for the kids we took them to dinner at a cool place and they soon forgot their sadness!! I wish it was that easy for me!

Thank you to Mohna for taking the picures of my kids petting the bear, and for the picture of the baby bear. There was NO time for me to get my camera out, so Thank you!

In Memory...

It is a sad day in our house today. We were shocked this afternoon to find out that Savana's fish Rapunzel has passed on to fishy heaven. We gave him/her a proper water burial (the toilet) and Savana blew him kisses goodbye. So we say goodbye to Rapunzel and wish him/her the best!!!

Another sad tale for our family. Gary's dad, Merle Dickhaut, passed away early this morning. He will be missed.
