Lions and Tigers and BEARS...

It's football time!! Tommy decided he wanted to play flag football this year. So far- he is having fun! His team name is the BEARS! Boy this kid loves sports, who can blame him when he is good at everything. This season should be loads of fun!

A teeny tiny vacation

Saturday, June 12, 2010-
It was early when we left, we wanted to make it down to Utah to spend some time with my parents and brother w/his family- We hardly get to see them. So we piled in the car and headed towards Salt Lake. We met up with my Dad and Jasmine (and the boys) at the Planetarium. We got to watch an IMAX movie, which was pretty cool. The kids really liked the 3-D effects. Then we took a lovely walk (to find a bathroom) then rode the TRAX for about a block. We grabbed something to eat at the new "mall" and then headed to the aquarium. We got to see LOTS of fun animals- snakes, bugs, lizards of all kinds, tropical fish, an octopus, sea horses, etc. We even got to pet some sting rays!!! It's always so much fun to see that stuff yourself, but then to watch the kids enjoy it so much makes it all that much better! Then we had to say goodbye to Jas and the boys, and we headed to Great Grandmas for dinner. One of my favorite things is talking with my grandma, and this was no exception- we had dinner, the kids played and the grown ups chatted away until finally the kids were whining to go home- that never happens! So it was a short day, but loads of fun! It's always a treat to see my family.

Gymnastics Recital

I am so proud of my girls. They have been taking gymnastics through the local Rec center for the past couple of months and have done really well. They enjoyed their teacher and had so much fun with the girls in their class. Last week was their recital. Unfortunately I didn't get to go, but I did make it to their rehearsal and they did fabulous. I was told however, by Emily and Grammy, that they were wonderful at the actual recital! I am so proud of them for sticking with it, and doing such a great job!

Another Graduate

I can't believe how fast the time goes. I know I probably say that all the time, but it's still very true. One day this little girl was my baby and now she is all grown up. She graduates pre-school tonight. Some people might say that it's not really something to celebrate, but to me it is. It marks the end of her time with Mrs. Jen, who has been wonderful and has taught Siera so much, but it marks the beginning of a new time in her life. Siera is no longer a little girl- she is ready for Kindergarten. She is ready to be a big kid- I don't think I'm ready though. I am proud of her and all that she has done, she is an amazing girl and I'm so proud to be her Mom!

Siera as "EXERCISING E"- She was a little shy, but ended up doing great.
They know all 26 letters of the alphabet and the sounds that go with them- how awesome!
"SI-E-RA" 3 syllables- she did great!
Siera and her best friend (future husband) Andrew! (He apparently makes that face because he likes her too much- he's trying to hide a smile)
Siera and her teacher Mrs. Jen. She is absolutely one-in-a-million. She is a fabulous teacher and Siera has really enjoyed her class.

My little graduate- How cute.

Happy Mother's Day

I have to admit, I am the luckiest mother alive. I know that is a completely biased statement, but true nonetheless. I was a little down since Josh is working so he couldn't be here, but the kids came through and gave me a great present. First they let me sleep in, which is always awesome, then they made me breakfast in bed- this year was scrambled eggs (made in a sauce pan) and a toasted bread sandwich with a little cinnamon (no butter) and strawberry milk (heavy on the strawberry)- it was very good and they were so proud of themselves. Then Tommy continued making breakfast for the other kids so I didn't have to. They have dressed themselves for church and have made up a beautiful dance for me! What mother could be luckier?

On Friday the kids came rushing home from school to give me the gifts they made.

Tommy came home with a cut out flower with his picture and this poem:

"I love you more than..."

"I love you more than the universe,
than Cars (the movie)
than Buble gum
and Sugar.

I love you more than Nature
and Jelly
than Deer Antlurs
and Hershy Bars.

I love you more than wrestling
than Butter on toast,
Oh I love Jellly Beans of any size
BUT I LOVE YOU THE MOST!!!

Savana came home with a book mark. On the back was a beautiful picture of flowers that she drew, and then on the front was her picture and this poem,
"You fill my days with happiness
and start my dream with a good night kiss.
Your hug helps wipe away my tears,
your soothing voice helps ease my fears.
I'm thankful for your tender care,
understanding, and being there.
You gave the gift of life to me,
a part of you, I'll always be."

Siera and her preschool did a little presentation. They recited a poem and sang "you are my sunshine" and then each child stood up and said why they love their mom.
Siera said, "I love my mom because she lets me play on the swing set after lunch."
That was followed by a gift of hershey kisses and a bookmark with a poem that says,
"I'm growing like a flower,
with all your love and care.
All your hugs and kisses
make the good times that we share.
I'm growing like a flower,
we know that it is true.
So I made this card in preschool,
to say, I LOVE YOU!!!!!"

Timothy just loves me and shows me by giving me lots of kisses and hugs!

I am truly blessed to be a mother. To see these beautiful children grow up so wonderfully is such a great gift. I have my mother to thank for setting such a good example to me, and a mother in law to thank for being such a great mother to her son-and to me! I love you both, and I love being a mother.

I hope everyone who has the opportunity to be a mother enjoys this day and enjoys her children!

Have you heard of THIS kind of facial?

A couple of weeks ago, when it was nice weather, the kids were playing outside with the sidewalk chalk. I didn't know how imaginative kids could get with chalk- This is what they came up with!!! I sure love these kids.

Talent show

Our primary decided that for their quarterly activity, that a talent show would be a good idea. I have to tell you, it was fantastic. Normally kids are shy, but there were lots of kids that sang, danced, played piano, read poems, etc. My kids were super excited to participate. Tommy and his friend Devan wanted to show off their soccer skills, and the girls practiced their gymnastics solo and performed very well! I'm so proud that they did a good job, but I'm also proud of them for not being afraid to share their talents! Go Kids!!!
Savana's handstand and one handed cartwheel
Siera's handstand and cartwheel!

My girls are such posers!
