Girls night

I have the BEST friends in the whole world! Since the beginning of the Twilight series we have all gone to the movies together opening night. It seemed fitting this year that the final movie came out right before I moved. It was a proper farewell. We went to the movie- WHICH WAS AWESOME!! Then we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse- Oh my goodness we had so much fun. I have never laughed so hard. I felt bad for our poor waiter who had to deal with us, but to get us back they had me ride the saddle. Yeah, I did. Most of the people around us thought we were drunk, but not us- we are just THAT fun!! I love these ladies and am so grateful for their friendship.

I hate hospitals

A blast from the past...right before we moved Tommy has some weird infection in his neck and so had to have a CT then was admitted to the hospital for 2 days of IV antibiotics. The first day was pretty miserable, but once the medicine kicked in he was just fine. I am glad that whole thing is over and done with. I hope I don't ever have to sleep in a hospital chair again. I just have to say thank you to the wonderful people that helped with the other kids while I was with Tommy- you know who you are!!!

local wildlife

There are TONS of deer here. Every day on any given road you are bound to see at least one deer. We are pretty lucky that our backyard is right by an empty field with a pond and trees, it's really pretty cool. Well there is one little herd (is that what you call it?) that hangs out there. There are about 7 of them. My little Zoey LOVES to bark at them. I'm not sure if it's because she had never seen one before or because she can. She goes out and just barks and barks and barks- the deer are NOT afraid of her. So they like to come check things out and run up to her and stare. They are a little more timid when Rocky goes out but even more so when the kids come out. They don't leave, they just scoot a little farther away. See how close Savana got?

Savana got pretty close to the local wildlife

And see how close the dogs get?
My big tough dogs barking at the deer I'm the back yard.

It has snowed for the last couple of days and just dropped tons of snow- I've heard it can get worse too!! Anyways, this was my car this morning AFTER I had shoveled the snow off to get the kids to school! We have about 14 inches on the deck and thank goodness it finally stopped snowing so we can catch up on the shoveling. The kids are enjoying it though, so that's good!
Check out the load on my car

We LOVE snow

It seems like a long time since we've been able to play in the snow. Since moving it has snowed several times and allowed us to actually use our sleds. We have an awesome sled park right by our house so it's great and easy to go. The hill is awesome to sled down but not so great to get back up, which we learned the hard way. So, we got some rope and made an easier way to get up. Oh the things we come up with!!

Savana is my little snow bunny. She LOVES to play in the snow. Maybe I'll take her skiing!! Anyways, she had a huge smile on her face the whole time- well just up until she face planted at the end, then she was done. But it wasn't anything hot cocoa and a warm bath couldn't cure!

Tommy is my die-hard adventurer. He was making jumps, going down any which way his body would go, and then he was styling on his falls at the end. I love that kid!

Since sweet Timothy left his snowpants at school, he wouldn't go down by himself. So we paired up on the big sled and had so much fun. After the second snow storm there was a LOT of powder and poor Timbo being in the front got white washed a few times. After that he made me go in front!! It was pretty funny.

Siera, my weird little girl, loves to sled. However, if she can't get the sled up the hill, she would just roll on down to get it. She could have fun going down the hill with or without the sled. I'm just glad she is so crazy- There is no greater sound than to hear her giggling all the way down the hill:)Photobucket

Josh doesn't have any snow clothes- well he does, they are just in a box somewhere. So he stood watch, took pictures and helped set up the rope tow. I think he had more fun watching us fall, slip, and slide than anything. We had snow much fun- and since this latest storm there will be plenty of time to go some more!!

Picture time...

Its been a few years, and a few more grand kids have been added to the family so that means PICTURE TIME! We all got together on Thanksgiving to eat yummy food and to take our family picture. Unfortunately it was very, very, very, VERY cold. We were pretty lucky to get any pictures, but I just have to say thanks to everyone for being such troopers. I sure love being a part of this family!

Soccer, soccer, soccer, soccer, etc....

Here at our house we LOVE soccer. The Gate City season ran from Sept. 8 through Oct 20. Every Saturday we had anywhere from 3-5 games to attend. Thankfully most of the games were at one central location so we only had to go from one end of the field to the other.

RED ROBBERS: Savana wanted to play so we signed her up and she actually liked it. She kept asking her coach to let her try goalie- so for the very last game he did, for about 5 minutes. I was so proud of her though, she actually went for the ball, and tried. The rest of the time she played as a mid-fielder. Hopefully she'll stick with it because I think she could be really good. She loved her team and had a lot of fun!
Teammates: Abbey, Samantha, Lauren, Madison, Kirsten, Mikayla, Aida, Shanay, Kiya and Angie.

PVSC FIRE/FLAME: This year Tommy was on a competitive team. Their season started August 20 and ran through Nov11. (Yeah, that's a long season.)  There were enough boys to have 2 teams, and Tommy was placed on the A team- FIRE! He was the center defender. He is REALLY GOOD! I may be biased slightly because I'm his mom, but this is just fact. I hope he continue to learn and grow into an amazing soccer player. These boys played games here, in Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and a few tournaments in Jackson Hole and Boise! They were so stoked to be named the Boise State Nova Champions! These little 11 yr old boys are awesome to watch. This was such a fun experience.
Teammates: Treyl, Nathan, Sean, Jared, Aiden, Drew, Joel, Cooper, Canyon, Trey, and Garrett

PURPLE DIAMONDS: My little Siera buggy wanted to play too since everyone else was. Yes, she is the follower. She had fun, but her favorite part was the treat after the games. She ran with the group and even scored a goal in her first game! I'm pretty sure this is her last season playing, but you never know, she might change her mind.
Teammates: M'kenzie, M'kell, Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Brooke, Rachel, Ashton, Alyssa, and Britton

SHARKS: My little Timothy takes after his brother- he lives for soccer. The two of them play every day. It sure shows when he gets on the field. This was his first season of 4v4. Almost every game Timothy was the first one to score and was the top scorer of the team. Not to brag, but this kid is gonna be AMAZING!!! He is such a great team player too, when he was out he was always cheering his teammates on. What a good kid.
Teammates; Rhett, Dalton, Braden, Boston, Kyle, Marcella, and Hannah

Reasons....

I have been a lot behind in catching everyone up on the happenings in our family- and there is a reason, I promise I'm not just being lazy (although that could be part of it). Here it is...WE ARE MOVING! Needless to say that I have been pretty busy. I can't forget to update everyone so here we go....

First of all, a new school year has started. The kids were so very ready to go back to school after a long summer. Tommy is in 5th grade this year, Savana is in 4th, Siera in 2nd and Timbo finally started Kindergarten! They sure love their school- and they are all doing very well. Their teachers love them!

Over Labor Day weekend Tommy and I, along with my BFF Mohna ran a 5k! I'm not a runner by any means, but we had so much fun training and running. Here's hoping we can do it every year!
Official results: Tommy came in 24th @ 26.20 while Mona and I came in 50 and 51@ 30.09

Josh and I love to go to the temple and so do the kids. One soccer free day (which was rare) we wanted to go to the open house for the Brigham City temple but it was over, so instead we went to visit the Idaho Falls temple and go to the visitor's center. We had so much fun there, and the spirit was incredibly strong. The kids loved to get their pictures taken all over the temple grounds. It was was a great day.

I am so proud of Tommy. He loves Cub Scouts and has an amazing leader (shouts to Angela)! She has worked with him, and he has worked at home to complete his Weblos badge in September.

On November 1st Tommy got his Arrow of Light. That is the highest rank you can get as a Cub Scout. He has advanced through all the ranks, gone above and beyond in everything and now he has crossed over to the 11 yr-old scouts (officially Boy Scouts)! I am so proud of him.

Around here, Halloween is one of our FAVORITE holidays. We love to dress up, eat candy and celebrate Tommy's birthday. Tommy wanted to go as a rocker and we got to shave his head into a mohawk- he liked it so much he kept it for a few days, even to is arrow of light ceremony. Timothy wanted to be Mario- it was a popular outfit, but I'm pretty sure he was the cutest one. The girls wanted to be Rodeo Queen's so I thought I would join them. Josh came home that day, but I think he did great on his costume! We had so much fun trick-or-treating too! Timothy finally got the hang of it and was running from house to house, but it only lasted for an hour. We were all pretty tired, but we got plenty of candy so we were good. It was a perfect Halloween!

And here he is.... HE'S 11!! Yes he's that old. I still can't believe it. I am so lucky to be his mom. He is my pride and joy. He is such a good kid, I sometimes forget that he is still a little boy. I have great hopes that he will be a fine young man! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMMY!
