Each year the kids get to perform for the parents and the rest of the school. Sometimes it's a holiday theme, or it's just something they are learning in school. This year, for the FIRST GRADE, Siera got to sing songs about going to the zoo. It was fabulous. I loved watching her perform. She is so funny. When each song was over I would cheer for her (if anyone knows me, they know it's LOUD), well she gets embarrassed rather easily, especially with that- so, I only do what any good parent would do- I keep doing it!!! And without fail, after every song she would blush and cover her ears!! I love it. I tried to get some video, but I was laughing so hard it isn't very good. Sorry- you'll just have to imagine it!

Right after Siera's performance Timothy and I headed out to his class field trip to the local pet store. It was of course cold and windy, but that doesn't ever stop the kids from having fun. On little girl, Brooke, was so excited to hold that silly tarantula- funny thing, she was the only one brave enough, Timbo wouldn't even look at it!!! They have all kinds of fun animals, this monkey (Chi-Chi) has been there for a long time, she is over 30 years old! My favorite part was seeing all the babies, especially the goats. After all the fun with the animals we headed over to get some ice cream- YES, THEY WASHED THEIR HANDS!! Timothy and his friend Caleb had so much fun with the ice cream- and of course, it always ends up all over his face. He is just so darned cute, even with a dirty face! Love that kid!

May 8, 2012

Since I have MAJOR catching up to do, I am going to do it journal style. We have had so much going on I really haven't had a minute to stop. So, since I have a few minutes today I will try to fill the world in on how we have been doing for the last few weeks...

First, was the Mother's Day program at Timothy's pre-school. They were so cute. They sang us "you are my sunshine" and gave us cute little cards. Each child got to tell his/her Mom why they loved them. Timbo came up to me and whispered "I love you because you make good breakfasts!!" It was a common theme among the kids, so we mom's must be amazing cooks. I sure love that kid- and the other 3 too. They all brought cute gifts home- Tommy made me a card and a drawing with a magnet, Savana also made me a tie dye butterfly magnet, and Siera made me a beautiful card. I love when my kids are so proud of the things that they do, especially when they put thought into the things that I like.

Second, later that evening we ended up having dinner at McDonald's. I'm not a big fan but when it's to support our teachers, it's a good enough reason to go. Mrs. Haber was the kid's Kindergarten teacher, they all love her- here's hoping Timothy gets her next year.  Then Mr. Watson, the new principle, was so willing to pose with the kids. He really has done a great job and the kids just love him.

Finally, after our quick trip to McDonald's we headed to the field for one of Tommy's games. He is such an amazing soccer player. I just love to watch him play. His team, the VYPERS, have had a great season, they only lost 3 games total. And during the tournament they came in 2nd place (they should've been first, but oh-it's a long story). We have loved having Coach Thomas as Tommy's coach, but unfortunately this season was the last one together on this team. In the fall Tommy goes to the competitive league and will be on a different team and have a different coach. Thankfully we got a picture of their team- one last time!

I have to tell you, this creeped me out. I thought to myself, let me take a picture of this cool spider, and I'll even practice some new skills- yeah, that spider was looking at me with those 4 eyes and I almost dropped the camera. Thank goodness he didn't jump on me or I would have!!

SUPERMOON

Tonight was the SUPERMOON! The time when the moon is the closest to us. I was pretty excited to see it, I love to see the moon, especially when it's full. I've been learning some things in my photography class and was excited to try to see if I could get a good, clear picture. I think I got a pretty good one. My favorite part is when I really zoom in there is so much detail there! I am loving this!!!

Field Trip time

One the things we love about Timothy's pre-school is the field trips. Throughout the year they go on lots of field trips to really cool places. For Spring/Mother's Day they went to the local Nursery to learn about trees, plants and flowers. After the tour they got to plant their own flower which they then gave to their mom's! This was such a fun trip and Timothy just LOVED playing in the dirt. Especially with his best bud Caleb.

Here fishy fishy

We love to fish- well the boys and Siera do- but we all love to go and enjoy nature. Recently a community pond opened up here so it was a 10 minute drive to get to this little pond. Josh got to work helping Tommy bait his hook (with his very own fly that he tied) so he could fulfill some scouting requirements! Anyways, Poor Josh had to help everyone else get their stuff ready he couldn't really fish himself, but we had a good time anyways. There were some rather large fish that were being caught- unfortunately not by us:( It was fun for the little ones to run around and get dirty, for Josh and Tommy to enjoy fishing and Savana and I had fun playing with the camera. She says she wants to be a photographer when she grows up! I was playing around with the lighting and ended up with some really cool silhouette pics of Savana doing cartwheels! LOVE IT! I just love these fun times we have as a family.

Go TURTLES!!

I absolutely LOVE to watch my kids doing what they love. Even though soccer is well into the season, today was the first REAL spring soccer- with frigid temperatures and brisk winds I was chilled to the bone. My hands were frozen and my ears were cold, but something like that wouldn't stop Timothy from getting out there to play. This season he is on such a great team- coach Z is awesome and we are hoping to stick with him through the years. Timothy has really broken out of his shell and just loves to get out and get the ball. He scored twice today and the team was was victorious with a 17-6 score! The turtles are undefeated so far! I'm glad I got some good pictures of how this kid plays- he is so naturally talented! It's a good thing that he and his brother are so good at this stuff and they can help each other. Even though it was COLD outside, he had lots and lots and lots and lots of fun!
